Innovation technology is focused on finding new ways of using technology. In recent years, London has emerged as a major international centre for technology and innovations. Each year, the capital hosts a number of conferences and events that bring together the world of innovation technology. London Technology Week

The annual London Technology Week was launched in 2014 and featured more than 200 events involving tens of thousands of tech experts from around the world. Events covered every aspect of technology innovation, including robotics, big data, fintech, wearable tech and more. Delivered with support from the Mayor of London and UBM Live, the event's founding partners include Tech London Advocates and London & Partners.

London Technology Week includes clinics, conferences, demos, exhbitions, lectures, networking events, seminars, workshops, and other events. Venues across the capital host events during the week, with many hosted at the ExCeL London Exhibition and Convention Centre. All events held during London Technology Week are organised independently, and many are annual events in their own right. The week-long event takes place in June and provides a major boast to London's growing technology sector. It also serves as a platform for London-based start-ups to network and showcase their products and services.

British Invention Show & Awards

The British Invention Show provides business with new opportunities to attract investment and showcase their products by bringing together investors, inventors, designers and manufacturers. It is the UK's largest expo dedicated to uniting the worlds of innovation and enterprise. The event allows ideas to gain exposure with potential investors and partners. First held in 2001, the global event is supported by the British Inventors Society (www.thebis.org). A highlight of the British Invention Show is the World Invention & British Invention of the Year Awards.

Since 2011, the British Invention Show has been staged at London's Barbican Centre. The expo and the World Invention & British Invention of the Year Awards were both founded by Kane Kramer, the inventor of the digital audio player. The renowned inventor also helped form the British Inventors Society in 2003. The multi-day event attracts leading inventors, innovators, academics and entrepreneurs, as well as blue chip and multi-national companies. Global Innovation Forum

IET Innovation Awards

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Innovation Awards celebrate the best innovations in technology, engineering and science. The IET is a professional society for the technology and engineering community. It has over 150,000 members in more than 120 countries. The Innovation Awards began as the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) Innovation in Engineering Awards, which handed out its first honours in 2005.

The FIT Innovation Awards are handed out in 16 categories, including communications, emerging technology, healthcare technologies, information technology, manufacturing technology, transport, intelligent systems, and more. Winners from around the world contribute leading innovations in science, engineering and technology sectors. The event helps raise the profile of innovators and many former winners have successfully attracted interest and investment in their products.

FT Innovate

Digital technologies and practices are changing the ways business innovate and create new products. An annual event from the Financial Times, Innovate offers a forum to talk about the future of digital technology and technology innovation. The event brings together corporate innovation practitioners and leaders from around the world. The event attracts leading companies that are integrating technology into their business and innovation processes. The event is designed for senior executives responsible for innovation, including heads, directors and other leaders of technology, research and development, product and brand development, marketing and strategy.

Through a mix of interviews, case studies and panel debates, Innovate allows delegates to discover ways of using digital technologies and practices.
